Dance performance „Loodud jääma“ (“Here to Stay”)
Dance performance „Loodud jääma“ (“Here to Stay”)
Jaanus Randma, author of the idea and its head director:
„Just as every building has a foundation, so does folk dance. Different activities like spinning yarn, blacksmithing and knitting intertwine with ancient dance moves such as the ’labajalg’ (in English ’foot’, denotes a flatfooted dance move as well), which was already a part of our ancestors’ lives, partially lay the foundation for today’s terpsichorean movement.“
Dance and movement give us an excellent way to express our lives and activities. In turn, life provides us with a large range of topics for dance. Dance has life in it and life has dance in it, so let us dance through life.
Texts created and edited by wordsmith Rein Pakk.
On stage playing and singing will be Celia Roose, Jaan Sööt, Toomas Lunge and Indrek Kalda.
Thought on what has been and what will become to guide us through the performance will be exchanged between Andres Dvinjaninov and Priit Strandberg.
